World War III, Sponsored by People Who Won't Attend

Questioning why some of the loudest voices describing Russia as an existential threat to Europe appear unwilling to personally accept the sacrifices implied by their own rhetoric.

This article is going to be short. But I wanted to write it as the subject really grinds my gears.

It is people who say Putin is the next Hitler and that Putin's and by extend Russia's goal is to take over Europe and fulfill the Kremlin's wet dreams of destroying democracy in Europe and recreating the Soviet Empire. I don't really care about any of that honestly. What makes my blood boil though is that these same people are not willing to put on a uniform and go fight in the trenches and sacrifice a few limbs here and there to defend Europe, its wealthy elites, politicians and their assets. Bonus (hate) points if they advocate that others should go and fight for them.

If they truly believe that Putin is the next Hitler, there shouldn't be an alternative, right? He must be stopped. Just like the allied forces and guerrilla warriors stopped the Germans from taking over the world and stopped them from raping women and children or burning entire villages to the ground back in the day, they too should act on it and stop Russia from doing the same.

Look, a military uniform and a couple of boots from the army surplus store costs around €50 and a one-way airline ticket with Ryan Air to the front line costs less than €200. The rest, ammo and canned food is covered by EU aid (taxpayers money). A small price to pay for freedom and democracy across all Europe don't you think? I mean you will be stopping Hitler for less than €300 after all.

So, don't be a coward. Nobody likes a coward. Not me, not your mother, nobody. Quit your cushy desk job, kiss your family goodbye, have a few last Augustiners and head over to the front lines first thing in the morning, son. Don't be a chicken. Otherwise you are just another hypocrite, no?

Unless, you don't think Russia wants to take over Europe. If that is the case, then shut the fuck up. Don't you even dare about talking war. If Russia is not such a threat then why are you even acting like everybody (except you of course) needs to go fight and die in the mud? Why do you want the cashier that makes minimum wage and lives in poverty and cannot even make rent send out a check half a salary to enrich corrupt Ukrainian oligarchs, all while you are sitting in a mansion by Lake Starnberg or Lake Constance? It is a rhetorical question.

So, is Putin the next Hitler? Then why aren't the people making those statements not at the frontlines already? On the other hand, if he is not, then shut the fuck up.
